Man overboard, man overboard!
Tears all round.
Team Minogue is a man down. This week we lost our lovely Andy.
Thanks to everyone for the amazing support and for all your votes so far.
After Andy got crowned Torso of the Week in Heat magazine and then singing the coolest song of the night, Chasing Cars, we were blown away to be in the bottom two. I guess the other judges’ comments had quite an effect on his votes! It was heartbreaking seeing poor Leon lose one of his best mates and to see them both in tears. The three of my boys have really bonded during their time away from family and friends, and now, the harsh reality is hitting in –as we all come closer to the dream of winning The X Factor, someone has to leave the competition each week.
Nikki sang Because Of You. Louis, Sharon & Simon loved it but I went out on a limb (again!!!!) and said I didn’t think it was the right song for her. Mainly because I can tell the difference in Nikki’s eyes when she has been told to sing a song and when it’s a song that she loves and wants to perform! Nikki agreed with me; that she didn’t love this week’s choice. Bad Louis!
Same Difference sang a cool Scissor Sister’s song. Louis was out to attack them again – he doesn’t think they are going to win – but I think he may be surprised by the amount of fans they have. To their defence, Simon said that Louis must have had a really bad childhood to not like to see other people having fun. Sharon said the performance was total madness like something Michael Jackson would have dreamed up. I absolutely love them. They always pull off really tricky choreography, and on top of that, this week’s song was a tongue twister and a half.
Beverley sang You’re Beautiful. Simon said, “You will hear that in one million hotels across the world – it was a peanut performance”. I don’t know about Simon’s food fetish but I also didn’t think that song captured Beverly’s best. The song was in a key that made her screech the end of the song, rather than belt it out – as we love to hear her do.
Hope sang Back To Black. Louis said they are as good as any other girl group in the charts today but I’m not sure. The first two notes were so out of tune I thought it was going to break the glass in the camera lenses but Phoebe managed to keep the song on track with her amazing lead vocals – that girl is on fire!
Leon sang Dancing In The Moonlight, after a horrible night of being sent to the doctors and having to take heavy medication just to be able to get a note out. Bless him, he has battled away and not made a single complaint. Louis called him a Michael Buble impersonator, Sharon noted that he is growing in confidence every week and Simon puffed out his chest and said “You have what I have – people like you”.
Alisha looked and sounded great – that song was like it was made for her.
And then we have Rhydian, who sang one of his all time favourites, You Raise Me Up. Louis said, “I’ve heard hundreds or thousands of versions of that song – tonight was one of the best I’ve ever heard”. Sharon said, “Powerful, fantastic performance. You are capable of making an amazing hit record. I’m looking at the winner and I wanna go home!”

We love Rhydian’s perfectly polished performance but next week is Disco week so guess what…we will have ‘The Showman’ back! Perez Hilton thinks that Rhydian is the new Liberace! And who would ever say Perez is wrong?
Such a feisty panel this week! Have you noticed Louis pulling out all the stops to be Mr Nasty! He has ruffled his little old man hair do, trying desperately to make way for Mr. Cowell’s crown!!!!! I love it when Simon hit back and told Louis he’s still in charge and doesn’t need advice. Ha ha ha ha ha!
Snaps to Shayne Ward who blew me away with his amazing vocals. Everyone has always said what a really nice guy he is, and guess what…it is soooooooooooo true. I love his new single and can’t wait for the album.
Thanks to June Sarpong for flying the flag to support Team Minogue.
Ricky Gervais admitted that the last time he cried was whilst watching The X Factor audition shows, “Where Simon smothers another young hopeful’s dreams!” …and for all the “ladies”…..David Walliams was in the house last night. A true X Factor fan who returns every year for more poptastic performances.
Until next week,
I’m pulling out all stops to bring the Dreamboys back!
Love Dannii x
